CREHO was present during the inauguration of the Ramsar COP 10 in Changwon, in the Republic of Korea, on October 28th 2008.
To this inauguration assisted distinguish personalities like the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Myung-bak, the General Director of PNUMA, Achim Steiner, as well as the General Director of UICN, Julia Martin-Lefèvre, among others.
During the ceremony there were emphasized topics like: climatic change and the importance of the wetlands as carbon sinks and dump of the impacts of the climatic change, specially referent to water resources; equally the necessity for seeking of a low carbon economy based on the ecology development concept to which, Korea will be working in the next coming years hoping to be a model country for the rest of the world.
